About Us

What is Lancaster University Cinema?

Lancaster University Cinema is a sub-committee of the Lancaster University Student Union (like JCR's and GSA).

We show blockbuster movies, as well as a few classics, six nights a week, not Wednesdays, during the Michelmas and Lent Terms and four nights a week, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, during the Summer Term in the Bowland Lecture Theatre. The majority of films are shown at 6.30pm and 9.30pm.

The Theatre is equipped with the latest Dolby Digital Surround sound, which provides the society with 8 separate sound channels, giving a full 360º surround sound effect in Bowland. The new sub-bass speakers are capable of producing in the region of 400w of bass.
