General Questions
How much is a ticket?
If you have a purple card then a ticket will cost £2, with a red or library card then a ticket costs £3. You can also acquire a 5 film pass for £8 which works out at £1.60.
Can I bring my children?
Children are more than welcome (depending on the BBFC classfication please check out www.pbbfc.co.uk for advice). Under 7s can get in for free whilst an under 15's ticket costs £1.50
Where is the cinema?
The cinema can be found in Bowland Lecture theatre (not to be confused with Bowland North)which can be found just off the spine and Alexander Square. We are right next to Bowland Bar. Look for the building with two posters boards next to its entrance.
Do I need to be a member?
No. The cinema used to operate a membership scheme but it no longer does. Any member of the university may attend screenings and they are entitled to bring along two non university members as well.
Does the cinema have any rules?
We cannot allow alcohol or hot food this is because of university rules and also because hot food tends to leave a lingering unpleasant smell. Please also act in a courteous manner to other patrons, for example speaking during the film can be highly irritating to everyone else. If you disrupt a screening you will be asked to leave
Also please remember that everyone involved in the running of the cinema is a volunteer so please be patient with them if problems occur. We try out best.
Can I suggest a film?
Please do, if you have any ideas for anything at all just email our film booking officer at fbo@lucinema.co.uk for film ideas and president@lucinema.co.uk for other ideas. All nighter ideas are always welcome as well as ideas for film seasons.
