Responsibilities of a Bar Sports Captain

There are six bar sports in the George Wyatt League and whilst these stand alone as leagues throughout the season the accumulated points determine the winner of the George Wyatt Trophy.

George Wyatt Committee

As a Captain of a Bar Sport team you are automatically a member of the George Wyatt Committee and as such have a responsibility to attend the meetings held during the year

These are kept to a minimum and usually only take place once per term. Information relating to dates and times will be available on the meetings page and reminders sent via email

Registration

To register a team in the league the outgoing Captain should send the contact details of the incoming Captain for the next academic year to the Sports Co-ordinator by week five of the 3rd term as outlined in the constitution

To register the players in their team the Captain should send the full names of all the individuals they intend to use throughout the year to the Sports Co-ordinator

Eligibility

There are strict rules governing this which can be found in the Inter College Constitution at B26.4

Match Dates/Times/Venues

The Men's Darts and the Dominoes matches take place on Monday evenings

The Women's Darts matches take place on Tuesday evenings

The Women's Pool matches take place on Wednesday evenings

The Men's Pool matches take place on Thursday evenings

All the matches start at 7pm and should aim to be completed before the bar closes.

The fixtures on the web site indicate which bar the match should take place in any given week and the matches have been organised so that colleges alternate each week playing home or away where possible.

Rules

All the rules relating to the six leagues can be found on the main Inter College pages and as Captain you should familiarise yourself with these and are advised to take a copy of them with you to matches. Proposals to amend these rules can be made at the George Wyatt Committee Annual General meeting that takes place during the 3rd term

The leagues are governed by the Inter College Constitution which is Bye Law 26 of the LUSU constitution

Results

Both Captains are responsible for returning a completed results card to the Student Activities Office by 5pm Friday of the week in which the match is played.

The captains are also able to collect blank results cards from the office at any time when the office is open.

All details should be completed on the card i.e.league, date and full name of players.
