Funding for Societies
The system of funding for societies covers two different areas. There is Core Funding for regular activities that societies participate in every year and Development Funding for new activities or a development of a current activity.
For further information on funding see the Societies Handbook
Here are the Funding Allocation Guidelines which SUEC use to allocate funding. This document shows you what will be funded and what will not be funded.
Core Funding
Core Funding can be applied for annually to support your regular activities. You apply in the Summer Term for the following year's funding. Core funding bids are to apply for funding for activities or events you are planning to do next year and the society has already done before. See the Societies Handbook for how to apply.
The deadline for applications for this year has now passed, check back in Lent term 2009 for next years application details.
Here is a completed example form to give you an idea of how to complete it. For help on how to complete the form contact the General Secretary or the Societies Union Officer.
Development Funding
Development Funding is available for societies who want to try a new venture or significantly improve a current activity. It is also available for capital equipment which will help the society develop.
Development Funding can be applied for throughout the year; when a society puts in an application it will be assessed at the earliest opportunity.
The Activities Developer is there as a support for societies development and you can book have a meeting with the Activities Developer to discuss your plans for your society and help you with your bid before sending it in.
Here is an example development funding application which is also in the appendices of the Societies Handbook.
If you need help with either of these processes then contact your Steering Group Rep or the General Secretary.
