Pirates of the Caribbean 3 Launch Party, Friday 25th May 2007, 8 till late
Blistering Barnacles, Grad Bar, known for its Jolly Roger and independent approach to partying and drinking, is raising the skull and cross bones once again, this time for the 25th of May, celebrating the fact that Capt Jack Sparrow is again returning to the screen. The night will have lots of tropical cocktails on offer, both alchoholic and non-alchoholic, and of course fountains of good ale and rum. That night the previous carribean films will be shown on the big screen, plus dressing up as pirates is encouraged but optional. A grand way to break up that heavy studying.

7:15 Infirmary pickup
7:30 Pendle Avenue pickup

GSA Trip to Skipton and Ingleton Falls
Saturday March 10th 2007
£ 8 per person
A 2 part trip to: Skipton, a historic market town with a castle, cobbled streets, ducks and canal boats; and nearby Ingleton Falls, a pleasant walk with spectacular scenery.
We suggest for this trip that you take a waterproof coat and sensible walking shoes/boots (not high heels or flip flops!) as the weather at this time of year is changeable and it can become slippery underfoot.
The price includes the bus fare only not the entrance fee for the falls walk (£ 3.50).

Penrith, Ullswater, Keswick
14 April 2007
Visit Penrith, a bustling market town; then take a steamer across gorgeous Ullswater lake with its spectacular views, and finally Keswick, a town in an idyllic location.
Penrith is renowned for its wealth of specialist shops offering an interesting choice of goods and fine foods. Sandstone buildings hide intriguing lanes, yards and alleyways, leading to attractive cottages, gardens and curious little shops. Not far from Penrith are Brougham Castle, Mayburgh Henge and King Arthur's Round Table.
Ullswater is a spectacular lake with a mirrored surface and magnificent vistas looking onto a gently curving shoreline of green fields, woodlands and sheer rock faces rising from the lake. It is also the source of inspiration for William Wordsworth's famous daffodil poem.
£ 13 (including all coach and steamer fares)
Tickets are available at the LUSU front desk (beneath SPAR) April 2 4, and April 12 13; and also in the GSA office at certain times.
