Monday
Firstly there is a genocide art installation in Alex Square by Christine Dawson, our artist in residence in the chaplinacy centre. I recommend people have a visit, its interesting and since this is the year of the 60th aniversary of the word Genocide being used in UN literature 'Recognizing that at all periods of history genocide has inflicted great losses on humanity, and being convinced that, in order to liberate mankind from such an odious scourge, international co-operation is required,'. (General Assembly resolution 260 A (III) of 9 December 1948). There will also be information leaflets on various issues for people to pick up.
At 7.30 in the Chaplaincy Centre, there is a speaker who will be talking about the current situation in Zimbabwe, it has its own event listed in posted items, but its recommended people get down there too.
