Amnesty International Sleepout

In the UK currently there are estimated to be 280 000 left destitute after being rejected asylum, they are unable to return, either because of the political situation in the country they have left rendering it illegal for the UK to return them, or because they have no travel documents with which to leave the country.

Amnesty International feels that the lack of care shown by our government to these people is a violation of basic human rights.

Come join and sleepout in the square to raise awareness about this situation and demonstrate a solidarity with those in this situation.

You will probably be best off bringing a sleeping bag (chance of it getting cold), and some food and torches. The people to look for will be in AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL hoodies, and they'll tell you everything you need.

Its a great, easy and fun way to raise awareness for those rejected asylum, and possibly a good way to sleep off the alcohol if people are going on a night out beforehand!
