11-side Football League 2008/9

Play football with your mates in a fun and relaxed sports league!

There will be weekly matches on a Sunday starting from Week 5 of this term (9th November).

Squads can be any number of players and all abilities are welcome. You can play for any group; your flat, your society, your department, etc.

The cost to enter this year has been reduced to just £30 per team!

This works out as only £1.50 per person for a squad of 20 and there are no weekly costs.

The fee pays for administration of the league and the trophies for the winning team; teams will need to provide their own referee and balls on a weekly basis.

Registration for the league opens at 10.30am on Monday 20th October (week 3)

The league is expected to fill up quickly so make sure you get in early to register!

To register your team the captain needs to see Alisdair Denholm in the Activities Office in LUSU, bringing full payment with them.

The matches will take place on the University sports pitches and all players will need sports centre membership and a purple card. These will be checked before the league starts so please make sure all the players have both.

The league will run until the end of Lent Term and the winning team will be presented with individual trophies at the AU Awards in the Summer Term.

The squad can be any size however LUSU will only provide trophies for a maximum of 20 players; if the winning team has a larger squad then they can buy trophies for the other players.

Lancaster University staff can play however there is a limit of four staff members per team. Lancaster University football players are not eligible due to the competition being set up for other students of the University to play in. There is also a limit of 4 College A or B team football players for the same reasons.

Team Captain Information

These are the B-Active Football Rules for the league and must be followed. Captain's need to make themselves aware of the eligibility rules for their players and their responsibilities as the 'Home Team'.

If you want to add players to your squad please put them on the Football Team Sheet and email it to Alisdair
