Table Tennis League 2008/9

Play Table Tennis in a fun and relaxed sports league!

There will be weekly matches on a Sunday starting from Week 3 of term 2 (1st February).

The league will take place in a team format competing in matches; a match will consist of two singles matches and a doubles match.

Teams will need to be between 2-8 players and all abilities are welcome; if you have a team of 8 it means you have players to cover when others are away for a weekend. The team can be male, female or mixed and they will all play in the same league.

The cost to enter is only £22 per team and there is a £50 prize for the winning team!

If your whole team has a Lancaster University Sports Centre membership then the entry fee is reduced to just £12 for the team!

The entry fee covers administration of the league, the trophies for the winning team, and the table tennis balls which are provided; however you will need to provide your own table tennis bats or hire them from the sports centre.

Registration for the league opens at 10.30am on Monday 8th December (week 10)

The league is expected to fill up quickly so make sure you get in early to register!

To register your team the captain needs to see Alisdair Denholm in the Activities Office in LUSU, bringing full payment with them.

Team members are not required to have Lancaster University Sports Centre membership; the team just pays the full registration fee instead.

The matches will take place in the Sports Centre gallery and all players will need a purple card. This will be checked before the league starts so please make sure all players have one.

The league will run until week 9 of term 2 and the winning team will be presented with individual trophies and £50 cash at the AU Awards in the Summer Term.

Lancaster University staff can play however there is a limit of one staff member per team. Lancaster University table tennis players are not eligible due to the competition being set up for other students of the University to play in.
