Roses took place this year in Lancaster on the weekend of the 2nd - 4th May.

Roses is the annual sporting competition between Lancaster (Red Rose) and York (White Rose) Universities. This annual battle stems from the Battle of the Roses which was originally between the royal houses of Lancaster and York.

Our Sporting version has been running for 43 years now and is still as competitive as ever. We take it in turns to host the competition but whichever venue the event is held in it is not a weekend to be missed.

The Roses weekend is a fantastic exhibition of sport but is also a chance to socialise with the York competitors. The weekend is all about taking part and supporting, so no matter which University hosts the competition the sidelines are full of crowds shouting and socials in the evening.
