The Inter College Sports Committee organises the competitive sport for colleges. Although this is internal sport it is still a major part of the Athletic Union.

The Committee consists of

The Inter College Chairs

There are normally two chairs; one male and one female, they are elected from the college sports reps during the summer term

Their responsibilities include: Overseeing all the Carter Shield events,

Chairing the Inter College Committee and the three sub committees George Wyatt, Football and Netball, and finally dealing with any questions relating to all aspects of Inter College Sport.

College Sports Reps

There are generally two reps per college but in some cases there are as many as four, these are elected during the 1st term as part of the JCR elections with two exceptions. Bowland elect their Sports reps in the summer term and Graduate usually elect in the 1st term

The Sports Reps are responsible for recruiting (waking up) and fielding teams for the Carter Shield events and also the overseeing of the Captains of the teams in the leagues.

The last two positions on the committee are taken by the:

The AU President who attends the IC meetings but is not allowed to vote

The Sports Co-ordinator who is not allowed to vote and whose main role is to record the proceedings of the meeting.
