LUSU Advice is staffed by two full-time, professional advisers and is open 9am-5pm all year round. LUSU Advice is situated in the union building (under the LUSU shop) and offers free, independent and confidential advice, as well as advocacy and information for all students at Lancaster University. Services are available in a variety of areas such as academic, funding, employment and money advice. Other services include:

· Money advice and debt counselling

· Information about sources of funding for undergraduate and postgraduate study,

· Information and advice about Welfare Benefits

· Advocacy at academic appeal and disciplinary hearings

· General academic advice

· Support and training for course reps

· Essay bank

· Free legal surgery every Wednesday afternoon

· Advice for International students

· Campaign information about health issues, safe sex, etc

· Links with other student officers including the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Officer, Mature Students' Officer, International Students' Officer, Race Relations Officer, Disabled Students' Officer, Women's Officers, Faculty and Course Reps.

There is also a popular and successful Jobshop, which advertises part-time and vacation employment opportunities for students. You can register with the Jobshop, to receive notification of appropriate vacancies as soon as they come in, or just pop in and browse at our notice boards.
